The Ohio Welcoming Initiatives Network, known as OWIN, is a statewide network of local welcoming initiatives that shares best practices and advocates for the economic integration of immigrants and refugees.
OWIN members began meeting in 2014 to discuss collaboration opportunities, resulting in successful partnerships and communications campaigns.
OWIN initiated conversations with the state of Ohio about creating a state office and took part in the signing of an executive order by former Governor John R. Kasich that created the Office of Opportunities for New Americans.
Current active members of OWIN are Cincinnati Compass, Global Cleveland, International Institute of Akron, US Together (Columbus, Cleveland and Toledo), Welcome Dayton, Welcome Toledo-Lucas County and Welcoming City (Columbus).
